Phuong-Anh & Simon=Hitched

What can I say about Phuong-Anh and Simon? Other than that they are amazingly wonderful people that are surrounded by equally wonderful friends and family. Phuong-Anh and Simon made Josh and I feel so welcomed on their wedding day. They made us feel part of their amazing friends and family. Their wedding consisted of a gorgeous day full of love and laughter, but one part  really stuck in my head Simon’s father got up and gave a toast. In his toast he mentioned that a wedding is only one day, and he requested that Phuong-Anh and Simon remember that it’s the normal day to day actions that make a marriage full of love. It was such a simple and beautiful message that I think every couple should be reminded of from time to time, including Josh and I.

The day began and ended at The Venetian on the Strip. Makeup was done by the talented, Sarah Vickrey and the amazing flowers were created by Janis Pollen. Josh and I love to work with Sarah. She’s insanely talented and fast! Two traits that we love :)

We then all traveled to Lake Las Vegas for a first look and portraits before the ceremony. Phuong-Anh and Simon were having a late afternoon ceremony at Guardian Angel Cathedral, and agreed to do a first look so we had maximum time for photographs instead of trying to fit a ton of photographs after the ceremony and before sunset. We really recommend first looks to all of our brides and grooms that are limited in time and light.

Phuong-Anh and Simon’s bridal party were so much fun and very relaxed.

Guardian Angel is such a pretty church and very conveniently located right on Las Vegas Blvd next to the Wynn.

So back in December, Phuong-Anh and Simon invited us to appetizers at their reception location, Bouchon Bistro, inside the Venetian. Josh and I were blown away by how incredibly tasty everything was. Dining at Bouchon’s is an experience. Their wedding reception was no different. The reception patio was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff was incredibly nice. It definitely made for a wonderful evening. We would recommend contacting Annie (the private dining sales manager) if you would like to inquire about having your wedding reception there!

The toasts were amazing at this wedding. They had me and everybody else in tears!

And the night for us ended with a slice of yummy cake!

Thank you again for Phuong-Anh and Simon for sharing a peek of your amazing lives together with Josh and I. We’re truly blessed to know you!

Gotta Check This Out

I was on Wedding Bee and saw an add for this new Eco Company Brilliant Earth and checked it out. They offer Green Jewelry. I was stumped to but read their Education link and it makes a lot of sense. They recycle old computers, jewelry and other precious metal to make new jewelry. I think thats pretty cool. You can also search loose gems and make your own jewelry.

Alison + Scott = Marriage

We had the opportunity to photograph a wonderful wedding last weekend. Alison and Scott, They are a fabulous couple that we met through a former bride Jacqui. Well, enough with the boring stuff. Heres the good stuff. I will have a full post later this week on the whole wedding. But till then enjoy the teasers :)

New I-Phone Software

So I just updated the new I-Phone software. So far its way cool I can do a search in the phone of all my items, as well as I can now view and download movies from ITunes. Sweeeet!!!!

Jill and A.J. Are Getting Hitched

So I was able to finaly meet with Jill and Anthony, They are a couple who travled all the way from Boston to come out to Vegas to get married. We went out to do there E-Shoot yesterday and we had a blast. Here is a sneak peak at there photos.

Do A Good Turn Daily

For those of you that don’t know I was in Cub Scouts, and Boy Scouts as a kid growing up. The thing that I have to say was the best part of Boy Scouts was not the camp outs or hanging out with friends, But the feeling of joy that was spread when we fafilled or slogan “Do A Good Turn Daily”. That is why I am posting today. I have recently felt that as a part of the community, and a part of being a good all around person that we should help out the ones in need. I am challenging any one out there that reads my blog or post on any other blog to help out with this. I think that if we can change the lives of just one person then thats a start. I am not talking about giving your house to someone that dosent have a place to live. But lets start small, Lets start with the things that we can do our selfs and not need help doing.

 

Keny and I have talked about this before and we have decided to start out with our good turn, We are giving away Free Wedding Photography to a bride in need. Yes, we are going all Oprah like. 

 

 

Ok You got me I had stumbled across this photo on www.google.com and had to use it. But the fact remains we are giving away 8 hours of photography coverage to a bride in need. What I want to do is have anyone that knows of a bride in need to nominate them, We will announce the winner on the blog and photograph there wedding totally free of charge. 

Legal Stuff:

To enter you must write a letter on why the “Bride In Need” needs the wedding photography. This does not need to be a novel but a short letter that explains the brides situation. Then email the letter to brideinneed@thecohensphoto.com 

Wedding photography will be for 8 hours of coverage, High Res. DVD, and Copyright Release.

Photography Coverage is limited to the greater Las Vegas Area.

Cretin Dates Not Available for wedding coverage

We will collect the letters and chose the winner. 

We are also interested in anyone that would like to donate their time or services to the “Bride In Need” Event. Any one that donates their time / services will have a say in the choosing of the “Bride In Need”. We are looking for anyone that works in the wedding industry to help out with Dress’s, Flowers, Venues, Videography, Catering, D.J., Planning, Limo Services, and any thing else that you can think of. 

For now I will leave this open ended. No matter what we will be doing a free wedding for someone.

Hello, Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me.

Hello to all, Yes the burning question on every ones mind is, Are we alive? Or as Pink Floyd asked. Yes we are here. Alive and well. Thank you for your concerns. We have been busy of sorts, With the slow down that every one is feeling but not admitting we are looking for new ways to promote our selfs, and I think that I have come up with a few great ideas… Maybe, we will just have to see. 

 

Short recap on what we have been up, Miami, Wedding, T.T.D. Shot, E-Shot, E-Shot, Consult, Booking, Consult, No Booking, (oh well), Boudior Shot, B-Day, Buddy runing a muck, The others taking part, Started working on the back yard… (not doing so good), and now lots of blogs to catch up with done. Ha ha. 

 

Now the big concern is that I went to go and check my emails on an old account and saw that the blog comments are all sent to that email. So I have some 750 comments to moderate. Oh the joy… Well back to work. Hopefully I will get my I Phone blog working so that I can blog on the go.

1st Time At The Vet

Buddy has gotten to think he rules the roost at the Cohen household. That is until we took him to the vet this morning. Apparently he’s discovered he’s just a little puppy in a big, bad world. I mean look at that face!
